About Ruth Rayikanti, M.D.

Dr.Ruth is a San Francisco native who grew up in the Haight Ashbury district. She completed her undergraduate degrees in Biological Sciences and African and African American Studies at U.C. Davis. She received her Medical Degree from Ross University and completed her Psychiatry residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, along with a year of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at Kaiser Permanente-Fontana Medical Center. During residency, Dr. Ruth was active in clinical, research, therapy, and community work on a wide variety of adult mental health care topics. She’s received awards for Excellence in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry along with Best Clinical Case Presentation by a General Psychiatry Resident.
Dr. Ruth has continued to build on her passion for providing highly tailored, integrated, comprehensive evidence based professional Psychiatric services. She’s worked with patients across diverse mental health settings. Her clinical interests include medication management, psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness interventions and multidisciplinary collaborative care for patients, especially those with Adult ADHD.
Outside of work, Dr. Ruth enjoys traveling, photography, poetry, listening to classical Indian music, and exploring San Francisco’s hiking trails with her two-year-old Golden Retriever on the weekends.
